The Experience

More Than a Bike Ride.
An Encounter.

We start where Yellowstone begins — at the historic Roosevelt Arch, carved with the words “For the Benefit and Enjoyment of the People.” That promise has stood since 1903. We take it seriously every single day.

From there, your guide leads a small group of no more than ten riders along the Old Yellowstone Trail — a 22-mile roundtrip that traces the Yellowstone River corridor, rides beneath the dramatic red-and-ochre striations of Devil’s Slide, and moves through some of the most active wildlife habitat in the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem.

This isn’t a race. We stop when the scenery calls for it. We pause for wildlife. We take photos at overlooks that make your friends back home wish they were here. Wildlife is often part of the experience — though every ride is a little different.

And when we roll back into Gardiner, we sit down together over pizza and relive the best moments of the morning.

Pedal assist handles the hills. Your guide handles the stories. You just take in the views.

The Route

From Gardiner
to Cutler Lake

The Old Yellowstone Trail is one of the most scenic and accessible rides in the Gardiner area — and one of the best ways to experience Yellowstone beyond the main roads.

This is where the ride comes alive. Your guide brings the landscape into focus — from the forces that shaped it to the wildlife that moves through it — turning a beautiful ride into something unforgettable.

01

114 Main St — Gardiner, MT

Start at our shop in the heart of Gardiner. Get fitted on your Aventon Aventure 3, dial in your ride, and roll out together toward Yellowstone’s iconic North Entrance.
02

Roosevelt Arch

Ride beneath the historic Roosevelt Arch — one of the most iconic landmarks in the American West — and pass through the original gateway to Yellowstone, just as travelers have done for generations.
03

Devil’s Slide Viewpoint

Rising dramatically above the trail, the red-and-ochre striations of Devil’s Slide streak across the hillside like a painted canvas. You’ll ride directly beneath this striking formation as your guide brings its volcanic story to life.
04

Yellowstone River Corridor

This is the soul of the ride. Follow the Yellowstone River through sweeping meadows and golden cottonwood flats, where wildlife still moves freely across the landscape. Elk, deer, bighorn sheep, and soaring eagles — this is Yellowstone in motion.
05

Cutler Lake Turnaround

A quiet, glassy lake tucked into the landscape — peaceful, still, and far from the crowds. We pause here to take it all in… the space, the silence, and the feeling of being somewhere truly wild.
06

Back to Gardiner — Pizza Time

Roll back into town on a high — legs worked, air in your lungs, and a camera full of moments you won’t forget. We wrap it all up with pizza, cold drinks, and the kind of stories that only come from a ride like this.

What to Expect

Everything You Need.
Nothing to Worry About.

No Experience Required

Never ridden an e-bike? No problem. We spend a few minutes at the trailhead getting everyone comfortable before we roll. Most first-timers are grinning within the first quarter mile.

Expert Local Guide

Your guide knows this landscape — the wildlife patterns, the geology, the history, the hidden details. This isn't a scripted tour. It's a conversation with someone who genuinely loves this place.

Real Wildlife Encounters

Elk, bighorn sheep, deer, bald eagles — this route runs through some of the richest habitat in the greater Yellowstone ecosystem. Sightings aren't guaranteed, but they're genuinely common.

Photo Stops Built In

We're not rushing anywhere. Scenic overlooks, dramatic geological formations, river reflections, wildlife moments — we stop when the shot presents itself. Bring a charged phone.

Safety Gear Included

Helmets provided for every rider. We follow all park wildlife regulations and carry first aid on every tour. Your safety — and the ecosystem's — comes first.

Pizza. Always Pizza.

Every ride ends with a well-earned pizza lunch in Gardiner — the perfect way to wind down after the ride. It’s one of our favorite moments of the tour — swapping stories, comparing photos, and laughing about the parts you didn’t expect to love as much as you did.

Prefer to explore on your own? We offer rentals too — but this is the ride we recommend if you want the full experience.
